AutoCAD Tip

Creating Multiple Leaders from a Single Leader

To create a single MText entity having leaders pointing to multiple locations, make your first leader using QLEADER, then highlight the leader. Heat up the end of the arrow (hot grip) and begin to stretch the leader, then select the Copy option from the "Specify stretch point or [Base point/Copy/Undo/eXit]:" prompt.
You can now click on many points; each point will create a new leader while keeping the base point at the text.

Streamline the process a little more....When creating a leader choose Settings and toggle off (clear the check mark) Prompt for Width.
At the prompt Enter first line of annotation text <MText>: you can press <Enter> to open the MText dialog or simply start typing at the command line.

How many ways are there to close the MTEXT editor?

  1. Alt-F4
  2. Ctrl-ENTER
  3. Click ENTER (duh)
  4. Click anywhere outside the MTEXT editor
